You may have come to this page after looking around at the variety of things that I've done and asked yourself "Who is this guy?"
Well, I will say that I am glad I am not growing up today because I would have been diagnosed as having ADD and had some pills thrown
at me. Instead, I prefer to say I just have "varied interests."
As a kid I always had a vivid imagination. I did well in art
at school. I drew a lot in class when I was supposed to be doing something else. My friends and I made our own bows and arrows out
of sapplings and twine when we were 9 and played pioneer.
Then I got into building model planes. I didn't paint them at first
but then I wanted to paint my F-4 Phantom jet camouflaged, like in Vietnam. I used some of Mom's craft paints, which she didn't mind
too much when she found out. She then bought me my own set of paints for my models. Then when I was 14 I started to get interested
in cars and was building models of them. I painted all of these, including custom stripes.
Also at this age, and younger, my
friends and I would make skits on cassette tape. At 14 I was making skits on reel to reel tape recorders I had inherited when my Dad
passed away.
The original Star Wars movie was a HUGE influence on me. I had to know how everything was done and that is was
got me interested in film making. I dabbled in a couple films with a few friends but it was the age of silent 8 mm movie film and
resources were limited. However, I researched film making my entire life (I am 45 as of 2009).
I always wanted to be "behind
the scenes" rather than in them. I wanted to make props, do special effects (prior to modern CGI), write scripts, direct, and handle
a few other tasks. Today I am an aspiring screenwriter, doing what I can to learn about being in the industry, getting inolved, and
pursuing my dream now that my children are grown and going out on their own.
As for all the other things you see here at the
site, what can I say? I get interested in anything pretty easily. A friend of mine labeled me a "Compulsive Hobbyist." I think he
nailed it. I love to be creative. I love a challenge. One of the biggest was putting the machine gun back together into a Stormtrooper
blaster. I've been told I can earn money making more of them but that's not what I am interested in. I wanted one, I wanted to
make one; I did. On to the next thing!
I know this is short as bios go but I think the rest of the site provides elaboration.
There is a lot more to me and I continue to do more creative works, such as my Mad Max Interceptor which is in progress. I also plan
to do some more driftwood pieces, and I have a few other ideas in mind, as well as irons in the fire. You'll have to come back again
to see what's new. ;)
